Now I’ll explain the different Persons in the trinity and what their distinct roles are. First, we have God the Father. God the Father is the source of all creation. He is a loving and personal God. This is shown in John 3:16; “For God (the Father) so loved the world that He gave His only son (Jesus) that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
Next is God the Son. This is Jesus, the son of God the Father, who came into the world to redeem it. Jesus became fully man so that He could save us from our sins and offer us salvation. Now Jesus stands at the right hand of God and advocates for us. It is said multiple times in the Bible that you have to know Jesus in order to know God the Father. John 14:9 “Whoever had seen me has seen the Father.”
Finally, we have God the Holy Spirit. This one is the most tricky one to understand in my opinion. The Holy Spirit is who dwells within believers. He convicts and guides us to live the way God wants us to. It’s easy to view the Holy Spirit as a “thing” rather than a person, but the Holy Spirit has been depicted to have emotions and thoughts. Ephesians 4:30 “And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.”
