I grew up in an Evangelical Free church, so I was always taught that the communion we take is purely symbolic. I was extremely surprised when I found out some denominations believe in the Eucharist and that they were actually eating the physical body and blood of Christ. This is a compilation of my research on both communion and the Eucharist.
