Saul's Sight

Helping The Blind See

Your Future

There was a time when I was convinced that I didn’t have a future, or at least not a good one. I wasn’t good at school, and I wasn’t good enough at swimming to have a future there either. On top of all of that, I was dealing with a very destructive addiction that I couldn’t seem to overcome. All of this led me to believe that any future I might have would end up badly. Eventually I spoke to my pastor about these feelings. Now I’m finally in a spot where I can confidently say that God has a good plan for me.

God is omniscient; meaning He knows everything. Everything that has happened, everything that is happening, and everything that is going to happen. God is not limited to time. What this means for us, is that God is never surprised by anything you do. You can’t catch Him off guard, and because of this he knows your future before it even happens.

God’s plan for your future is good, even if it doesn’t seem like it. God wants good for you even more than you want good for yourself. Romans 8:28 says “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose”

God has a good plan for you, but you must choose to trust and obey God for His plan to work. If you choose to trust God’s plan He will be with you every step you take. God constantly promises His people that He will never abandon them. “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39. It’s important to keep in mind that you won’t always feel God. I personally rarely ever feel God’s presence with me, but that doesn’t mean that He’s not with me. You don’t always have to feel or see something for it to be real.

God loves to use broken people. There are so many examples in the Bible, but my favorite is Saul in the book of Acts (hence the name of this website). Saul, who later became Paul, was a persecutor of Christians. He killed them and put them in prison, but then Jesus appeared to Saul on the road to Damascus. From that moment forward, he was known as Paul, and he was a great apostle. God used Paul in amazing ways despite His earlier mistakes, and God can use you to.
